Brian Connell, CFA

Brian is a financial professional and Chartered Financial Analyst who has personally run a small hedge fund and founded a venture-backed software company, called StreetFusion, which served institutional investors until it was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2003. In recent years, Brian realized that marketing has by far the greatest impact on the degree to which a company succeeds, and that this is particularly true of startup and emerging hedge fund management companies. He therefore founded Exponential AUM to help hedge fund managers expertly market themselves and their funds, while always remaining focused on the goal of consistent and accelerating growth in AUM over time.

Brian personally works with each of our clients to develop a thorough understanding of their target investor group(s), as well as all aspects of their fund, including their investment strategy and risk management discipline. He then crafts key messaging that resonates with the manager’s target investors, and then works with our design and technology professionals to professionally present the fund’s messaging across all physical and digital materials.

Brian is a graduate of Duke University, where he earned degrees in economics and psychology. In addition to being a CFA charterholder, while on the sellside he also held Series 3, 7, 24, 63, and 65 FINRA registrations.
